uSecure: security awareness training and human risk management, delivered properly

uSecure is a UK-built security awareness platform designed specifically for MSPs and their clients. The platform combines structured user training (uLearn), phishing simulation (uPhish), policy management and attestation (uPolicy), and dark web monitoring for compromised credentials (uBreach), all tied together through a human risk dashboard (uRisk). For UK businesses serious about reducing the human element of cyber risk, it’s one of the cleanest and most affordable platforms on the market.

People are involved in the vast majority of security incidents. Phishing, credential reuse, weak passwords, accidental data exposure, and bad clicks remain the most common ways businesses get compromised, regardless of how strong the technical controls are. uSecure addresses this directly with measurable training, simulated attacks, and ongoing monitoring rather than the once-a-year compliance video that most businesses still treat as “security awareness.”

Dr Logic deploys and runs uSecure for clients as part of ongoing managed IT support. This sits inside our IT Success® Plans and forms part of the wider cyber security work we do across the business.

What Dr Logic delivers with uSecure

  • Programme setup and user onboarding. We deploy uSecure across your user base, configure the right training tracks, and integrate with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or your identity platform so users are added automatically as they join the business.
  • Structured security awareness training (uLearn). We schedule short, focused training modules across topics like phishing, password security, data handling, social engineering, mobile security, and compliance. Training is bite-sized rather than the all-day session nobody remembers, with completion and quiz results tracked.
  • Phishing simulation (uPhish). We run regular simulated phishing campaigns appropriate to your business and risk profile. Users who click get directed to targeted training. Results inform where the real gaps are and which teams need more support. This is genuine testing, not a checkbox exercise.
  • Dark web credential monitoring (uBreach). We monitor your domains for compromised credentials appearing in known data breaches. When something turns up, we act on it: forced password resets, MFA verification, and investigation of any related account activity. This is the layer that catches reused passwords leaking from other services your team uses.
  • Policy management and attestation (uPolicy). We use uPolicy to circulate, track, and evidence acknowledgement of internal security policies (acceptable use, password policy, data handling, remote working). For Cyber Essentials and ISO 27001 audits, having attestation records ready in one place saves significant time.
  • Human risk reporting. We produce regular reports showing where the risk sits across your business: which teams are most exposed, which users need more support, where the trend is improving, and where it isn’t. Leadership gets a clear picture of human risk over time, not just whether training has been completed.
  • Cyber Essentials and compliance alignment. uSecure directly supports the user-related controls in Cyber Essentials and feeds into evidence for ISO 27001, SOC 2, and similar frameworks. We use it as part of certification and re-certification work.
  • Integration with the broader security stack. uSecure complements rather than replaces the technical security layers (email security, endpoint protection, identity controls). Where users are repeatedly the source of incidents on the technical side, uSecure helps us address the underlying behaviour.

Why uSecure (and partner status)

Dr Logic is a uSecure partner with hands-on experience deploying and running the platform across many client environments. uSecure is built specifically for MSPs serving SME and mid-market clients, which is exactly the audience we serve, so the tooling, the pricing, and the workflow fit cleanly into how we deliver managed IT. The training content is genuinely good (short, well-produced, regularly updated) and the phishing simulation library covers the realistic threats UK businesses actually face.

This sits alongside our Apple Premium Technical Partner work and the wider security stack we run, including endpoint protection, email security, identity, and managed SOC capability.

When uSecure is the right fit, and when it isn’t

uSecure is often the right call for businesses in the 70 to 150 user range that want serious security awareness training and human risk management without the cost or complexity of enterprise platforms. It’s particularly well-suited to UK SMEs needing to evidence training for Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001, or sector-specific compliance, and to businesses where phishing and credential reuse are realistic threats (which is essentially all of them).

That said, it’s not the only option. KnowBe4 is the market leader globally, with a much larger content library, more sophisticated phishing templates, and a stronger global presence. It’s also significantly more expensive and aimed at larger organisations. Hoxhunt offers a more behavioural, adaptive approach to phishing simulation that some clients prefer. Sophos Phish Threat is bundled with certain Sophos licences and may make sense for clients already on that platform. The security awareness modules within Barracuda or SafeAeon can also overlap, though they’re typically less dedicated than uSecure as a standalone platform.

The honest answer is that the right pick depends on your size, budget, compliance needs, and how seriously the business is willing to take security awareness as an ongoing programme rather than a tick-box exercise. Get in touch and we’ll talk it through properly.

What is uSecure?

uSecure is a UK-built security awareness training and human risk management platform combining user training, phishing simulation, dark web monitoring, and policy management. It’s designed for MSPs and their SME clients, with structured programmes rather than ad-hoc training.

Do you manage uSecure for clients, or just resell it?

We manage it. Programme setup, training schedules, phishing campaigns, dark web monitoring, policy distribution, and reporting are all handled as part of an IT Success® Plan. Your team gets the training; we handle everything behind it.

Doesn't our email security already include security awareness training?

Some email security products include training modules (Barracuda is one example), but they’re usually limited and not designed as a structured ongoing programme. uSecure is a dedicated platform with deeper content, better tracking, and the human risk dashboard tying it all together. For businesses serious about awareness as a programme rather than a feature, dedicated tooling tends to deliver better results.

How does uSecure work with Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace?

uSecure integrates with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace for user sync, so as people join or leave your business, the platform stays current automatically. Phishing simulations are delivered through email, with training accessed through web browser, so there’s nothing for users to install.

What's dark web monitoring and is it worth it?

Dark web monitoring scans known breach databases and underground sources for credentials linked to your domain. When something turns up (an employee’s password has leaked from another service they used) you can act on it before an attacker does. It’s a useful layer because credential reuse is one of the most common ways accounts get compromised, and it provides early warning that signature-based security tools won’t.

Does uSecure help with Cyber Essentials?

Yes. uSecure directly supports the user-related parts of Cyber Essentials and provides evidence (training records, policy attestations, phishing simulation results) that auditors and assessors expect to see. For Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO 27001, having that evidence ready in one place saves real time.

How does uSecure compare to KnowBe4 or Hoxhunt?

KnowBe4 is the global market leader with a larger content library, more sophisticated phishing templates, and a stronger enterprise feature set. It costs accordingly. Hoxhunt takes a more behavioural, gamified approach to phishing that some users respond well to. uSecure sits in the sensible middle for UK SMEs, with content quality and feature depth that match the audience without the enterprise pricing. For most businesses in our client range, it’s the right balance.

Is uSecure cost-effective for a business our size?

For most businesses in the 70 to 150 user range, uSecure typically works out at a reasonable per-user cost, particularly when you consider it covers training, phishing, dark web monitoring, and policy management in one platform. We’ll model it against alternatives based on what you actually need.

Ready to Build a Security-First Culture?

If you’re reviewing your security awareness training, worried about phishing risk, preparing for Cyber Essentials, or just realising that “the annual security video nobody watches” isn’t an actual programme, we’d be happy to take a proper look and tell you honestly what would work for your business.
