Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace – An Honest View
Microsoft 365 is the better fit for businesses where Outlook is already embedded in how the team works, where there are Windows devices in the fleet, or where clients and suppliers expect Microsoft-native file formats. Business Premium is the right tier for most businesses with more than basic security needs. It includes Intune, Defender, and Entra ID conditional access, which together address most of the Cyber Essentials technical controls without additional tools.Google Workspace suits businesses that are genuinely cloud-first, Apple-only, and not dependent on Microsoft applications. For those businesses, the simpler admin experience and lower cost make it a better everyday fit. Dr Logic supports both platforms and will tell you honestly which suits your situation. The answer usually comes down to where you already are; switching platforms mid-flight is rarely worth the disruption unless the current setup is clearly wrong.

What does Microsoft 365 include, and which plan do most businesses need?
Microsoft 365 Business Standard (currently around £9.40/user/month on annual commitment, ex-VAT) includes desktop Office apps, Exchange email, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive, and covers the everyday needs of most office-based teams. Business Premium (around £16.60/user/month) adds Intune for device management, Microsoft Defender for Business, and Entra ID conditional access, the security and compliance layer that businesses working towards Cyber Essentials, or handling regulated data, genuinely need. What's the difference between Business Standard and Business Premium?

Yes, significantly – particularly at the Business Premium tier. MFA enforced through Entra ID addresses the access control requirement.
