Most workplace training still means the same thing it did a decade ago: a slide deck, an hour you didn’t have, and a certificate you’ll never look at again.
We built something different, and decided to give it away for free.
Dr Logic Academy is a learning management platform from Dr Logic, the Apple-focused IT support provider, designed to make practical tech and business skills accessible to anyone, not just IT teams. No sales pitch, no paywall, no subscription – just a resource built to help people cross skill gaps in a way that doesn’t feel like a chore.
What Dr Logic Academy actually is
The Academy is a library of self-paced learning tracks, each broken into short modules of 12-20 minutes. That length isn’t arbitrary. It’s designed to fit into a coffee break rather than requiring a training day, which is usually where good intentions to “get round to learning that” go to die.
And because we all learn differently, the module content is served in two ways depending on preference – listen to a video with accompanied visual aids at your own pace, or read the material live on site.
Modules are tagged Beginner or Intermediate and unlock in sequence, so each track builds logically rather than dumping everything at once. Currently, the Academy covers 11 tracks, and it’s broader than IT training alone. Alongside technical skills, it covers the business and compliance knowledge that most teams pick up haphazardly on the job:
- AI and modern workplace tools, including What AI Can Actually Do for Your Business and Introduction to AI Prompting, aimed at cutting through hype and building usable skills.
- Apple in the workplace, covering device deployment and management, moving from Windows to Apple at scale, BYOD policy, and day-to-day device support.
- Business and compliance essentials, including GDPR and data protection, and how to actually get value from an IT support provider rather than just tolerate one.
- Core technical skills, such as networking fundamentals and how to interface with GitHub, from introductory through advanced.
One link for all your qualifications
Every learner gets their own public qualifications page: a single shareable link showing every Academy badge earned. You can also add certifications from outside the Academy, things like CompTIA or Cisco, onto the same page. Instead of a CV line, a screenshot of a certificate and a separate LinkedIn add, it’s one link that covers all of it, automatically kept current as new badges and credentials are added.
Learning that gives back
As part of Dr Logic’s B Corp journey, we’re examining how every decision we make and project we embark on can serve the greater good. Obviously making this training portal completely free was one such decision, but we also wanted to go further by turning everyone’s progress into a simultaneous charity drive.
Every badge earned by the Academy’s users goes toward a communal target, as seen (and updated live) on everyone’s dashboard. Once a target number of badges has been earned across the combined userbase, Dr Logic will donate to the amazing Tech For Good charity. The plan is to circulate through a number of good causes, so future charity choices will be put to a vote, allowing the community decides where the impact goes next.
Who it’s actually for
Because it’s free and open, the Academy isn’t gated to Dr Logic’s existing clients. It’s genuinely useful for:
- Individuals wanting a structured, low-commitment way to build IT, compliance, and workplace literacy
- Businesses looking for a ready-made way to upskill staff on Apple devices, AI tools, GDPR, or supplier management without building training in-house
- Anyone who wants a credential they can actually share, rather than a certificate that sits in a downloads folder
This is just the start
The 11 tracks live today are a starting point, not the finished product. New content and tracks are being added on an ongoing basis. To keep up with that, the dashboard has filters for when a track was updated (anytime, last 30 days, last 90 days, last year) and for subject area (Apple, Core Skills, Workplace & Productivity), so it’s easy to check what’s new or focus in on one specialty rather than scrolling past everything else.
Try it!
