Apple is bringing AppleCare One to the UK from 4th of August 2026, letting customers cover up to three Apple products under a single monthly plan from £16.99, with additional devices added for £4.99 a month each. For Mac-first businesses, the headline caveat is this: AppleCare One is built around a personal Apple Account, not a Managed Apple Account, so it does not extend to business-owned fleets in the way AppleCare+ for Business already does.
That distinction matters more than the plan’s convenience. A growing number of UK small businesses run on a mix of company-purchased Macs and personally-owned iPhones or iPads that staff use for work, and AppleCare One’s arrival raises an obvious question for owners and IT leads: does this new plan cover any of that?
AppleCare One covers up to three devices for £16.99 a month
AppleCare One bundles the full benefit set of AppleCare+, including unlimited accidental damage repairs, battery replacement service, and 24/7 priority access to Apple experts, into one subscription spanning multiple products. Customers protecting an iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch together could save up to £11.48 a month compared with running separate AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss plans on each device individually.
The plan also relaxes one of AppleCare+’s longest-standing restrictions. Previously, AppleCare+ had to be purchased within 60 days of buying a device. AppleCare One allows customers to add eligible products up to four years old (one year for headphones), provided the device passes a condition check first.
- Starts at £16.99 a month for up to three products
- Additional devices can be added for £4.99 a month each
- Devices up to four years old are eligible, subject to a diagnostic condition check
- Existing AppleCare+ plans transition automatically, with any unused portion refunded
- Trading in a covered device through Apple swaps it automatically for the replacement, with no need to re-enrol
- Alongside AppleCare One, AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss now extends to iPad and Apple Watch in the UK, having previously been limited to iPhone
AppleCare One only covers devices tied to a personal Apple Account
This is the detail that matters most for business owners. AppleCare One enrollment is tied to the devices registered in a single, personal Apple Account. It is not built around Managed Apple Accounts, and it is not offered through Apple Business, the platform UK businesses use to provision and manage company-owned hardware.
Business-owned devices need AppleCare+ for Business instead
Company-purchased Macs, iPhones, and iPads enrolled in Apple Business remain covered, if at all, through AppleCare+ for Business, sold as a device plan or an employee plan alongside the platform. AppleCare One is not a substitute for that coverage and cannot be applied to fleet-managed hardware.
Employees using personal devices for work create a coverage gap
Where the picture gets murkier is BYOD. An employee who uses their own iPhone or iPad for work email, Slack, or client calls could, in principle, add that device to a personal AppleCare One plan. But that coverage sits entirely outside the business’s control, is not visible to IT, and offers no guarantee it will still be in place if the employee leaves the business or the device changes hands.
AppleCare One vs AppleCare+ for Business: what is actually different?
| Feature | AppleCare One | AppleCare+ for Business | Standard AppleCare+ |
|---|---|---|---|
| Account type | Personal Apple Account | Managed Apple Account, via Apple Business | Personal Apple Account |
| Devices Covered | Up to three or more, personally owned | Business-owned, fleet or per-device | Single device |
| Starting Price | £16.99/month for three devices | From £7.99/month per device | Varies by device |
| Claims Per Year | Three across the whole plan | One repair credit per device, per year | Unlimited accidental damage; two theft/loss claims |
| Enrollment Window | Devices up to four years old | Tied to Apple Business enrollment | Within 60 days of purchase |
In Dr Logic’s experience, the confusion between these plans is genuine, not hypothetical. AppleCare One is a useful consumer product, and there is nothing wrong with staff using it for their own devices. The problem only arises when a business assumes it covers company hardware, or leans on an employee’s personal plan as an informal substitute for proper fleet coverage.
What this means for Mac-first businesses in the UK
For businesses that already provision hardware through Apple Business, nothing changes. AppleCare+ for Business remains the right coverage route for company-owned devices, and Dr Logic recommends checking that every device in the fleet is actually enrolled correctly, since gaps typically appear at onboarding rather than at renewal.
For businesses with a more relaxed BYOD culture, this is a good moment to be explicit with staff about where personal responsibility ends. A device covered under someone’s personal AppleCare One plan is not company asset protection, and it should not appear in any risk assessment or insurance conversation as if it were.
Sorted correctly from the outset, the two systems complement rather than compete: personal devices under personal cover, business devices under Apple Business and AppleCare+ for Business. This is exactly the kind of device-estate clarity Dr Logic works through with clients who run a mixed fleet of company and personal hardware.

Frequently asked questions
Can I add my work MacBook to AppleCare One?
Only if it is registered to your personal Apple Account rather than a Managed Apple Account. Devices enrolled in Apple Business for a company are not eligible for AppleCare One and should be covered instead through AppleCare+ for Business, arranged by the business itself.
Does AppleCare One replace AppleCare+ for Business?
No. AppleCare One is built around personal Apple Accounts and individual ownership. AppleCare+ for Business is designed for company-owned, fleet-managed hardware provisioned through Apple Business, and the two are not interchangeable for business devices.
What happens to my existing AppleCare+ plan if I switch to AppleCare One?
Adding a device to AppleCare One automatically cancels its existing AppleCare+ plan, and Apple refunds any unused portion. This applies per device as each product is added to the new plan.
How many claims does AppleCare One allow per year?
AppleCare One permits three claims per year across the entire plan, regardless of how many devices are enrolled. This differs from AppleCare+ for Business, which allows one repair credit per device, per year.
When does AppleCare One launch in the UK?
AppleCare One became available in the UK from 4 August 2026, alongside the same launch in France, Germany, and Australia. It can be purchased at apple.com, in an Apple Store, or directly from an eligible iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
