The Department for Science, Innovation & Technology (DSIT), in partnership with the National Protective Security Authority (NPSA), has launched a Secure Innovation Security Review Scheme – offering matched funding of up to £2,500 for cyber and security reviews.
The scheme aims to support up to 500 innovative UK companies in critical sectors, including:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Life Sciences
- Semiconductors
- Renewables
- Defence
- Financial Services
Each review is delivered by trusted experts vetted by MI5, GCHQ, and the NPSA, helping your business assess its resilience against both cyber and insider threats.
What Does the Security Review Include?
Each participating business receives:
- A security health check – either on-site or remote – focused on both digital and personnel risks.
- A tailored report with practical, expert recommendations specific to your company’s risk profile.
- A 6-month follow-up to track improvements and offer further guidance.
In the 2023 pilot, 98% of participants reported improved confidence in their security posture as a direct result of the programme.
Eligible businesses can apply via the Innovate UK Funding Service – the portal administering the scheme on behalf of DSIT. Applications are accepted via the official Innovate UK page. Act quickly, as there are only 500 review slots available.
